17 Principles of Personal Achievement

by Napoleon Hill

I want to start out with a quote and it's one of my all-time favorites.

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”     by Wayne Dyer

This quote is so applicable because events in your life don't always have a specific meaning. They only have a meaning that you give them.

you may be struggling,

you may be hurting,

you may be having all kinds of things happening in your life.

But I want to impress upon you this thought …

Events in your life don't have a specific meaning.

Only the meaning that you give them.

Let me give an example. You could take any sporting event and there's the same people watching that sporting event.

…Totally different feelings,

…Totally different Impressions

…Totally different experience.

They have a different experience because, depending on their expectations, depending on their perspectives, and depending on their environment, they're going to have a completely different meaning of events that may happen in that sporting event.

So you need to choose… and you must choose the filter that you use to view your life.

You have to recognize and choose the expectations, the perspectives, the environment and baggage that you view things with.

I believe there are two types of people in the world.

The first type of person is someone that believes things happen for a reason. They believe there's a lesson to be learned. They believe that maybe there are miracles in their life.  They believe that maybe someone's out there watching over them. But most importantly,

They believe whatever happens to them will benefit them or it is for their better good.

Whether it’s growing, expanding, learning, or some other positive may come from a certain event. I know I've had events in my life that, at the time I thought were extremely difficult. But looking back with perspective later on in the future, it turns out they were for the best and they were for my good.  So the first type of person is someone who believes things happen for a reason and believes that reason will benefit him.

The second type of person is someone that believes that things happen strictly by chance. They have no influence over the events that they've had in their life. They think things happen randomly.  There's just a 50-50 chance whether things are good or bad. Things happen to them that they can't control.

They believe that bad things constantly happen to them or maybe they just feel like they don't have a choice in situations.

These people operate and live their life in fear because they have no hope. Maybe you found yourself at a time thinking “why did this happen”. You're not thinking through a perspective of that happening for a reason. You're thinking through how horrible it is. That's not a good way to live. You’re living in fear. You’re living without hope.

The first type of person operates out of Faith.  They believe that things will get better. They have faith that the situation will make them stronger. Most importantly, they believe there's a reason that everything happens and that reason is there to benefit them.

So here's the real million-dollar question I have for you today. I want you to think about this.

Which kind of person do you want to be?

Which kind of person are you?

Do you want to be someone that believes things happen for a reason that will benefit them or someone that just believes things happen to them?

Believe it or not, and make no mistake, you certainly can choose which type of person you want to be. It's as simple as that. It's a simple choice and then it's following through with that belief.

I hope you choose faith.

That you choose to believe that you can overcome.

That you can influence the perceptions you have in your life of circumstances & events.

But most of all, I hope you make a decision today that you'll be someone who chooses to view life through a lens of success, prosperity, and certainty.

That you will follow and maintain your direction.

That's my thought for today.  I hope you have an amazing day. You're the average of the people that you hang out with. I'm certainly glad that you and I could spend some time together and talk about this and plant these thoughts in your mind. You are amazing! You can accomplish your goals. I believe in you!  As always, my goal with this Blog, with the podcast, with the mobile app, and with the Daily Mastermind is to provide you with all the resources and tools you need to unleash your true potential.

It's never too late to start living the life you were meant to live!
