Today’s Topic we will discuss practical ways you can change your thoughts, activities and perspective for change based on a blog article that I love from Wayne Dyer.

Interesting quote because we have discussed several times that its not the events in life that determine our experience. Its the “meaning” we give events that determines that experience…So, it also goes with reason that having meaning outside yourself will also give added meaning to your life.
13 Habits to Create a Life You Love…Your BEST LIFE
Dr Dyer talks about a “realm” or place thats outside your normal level of consciousness that allows you the opportunity to visualize and create what you want in your life. He talks about how when you get to the “realization” of this place and your innate ability to access this level of consciousness in your life, you truly become empowered.
Maybe you’ve experienced this in your life or maybe you haven’t, but I have certainly learned and come to the conclusion in my life that you can access energy, influence and the power greater than yourself to truly impact and shape your life.
And, whether you believe in yourself (and your abilities) or believe in powers greater than yourself, it doesn’t change whether they are true or not. They are and there are ways to truly tap into greatness inside of you that you haven’t discovered yet. I can say this because no matter where you are in life, you are always capable of more…we all are.
You simply have the decision to believe that you are not alone and that you have greatness inside you. Plus, you have to come to a point in your life that you realize that faith in something outside just yourself will help you to achieve greatness if you will simply exercise some faith and become consistent in your daily rituals that will lead you to a greater version of yourself and the life your were meant to live…an amazing life.
So, I want to run through the 13 Habits that Wayne Dyer outlines that can assist you in Your Perspective, Your Thoughts, and Your Daily Practices…and Ultimately help you Manifest and Create a Life you Love.
Habit 1: Believe You Are an Infinite Spiritual Being Having a Temporary Human Experience
-This is a concept that I truly love. Rather than thinking we are Human Beings that are having a Human Experience, Dyer suggests that we are much much more. He suggests that we are Spiritual Beings (more than we can imagine) that are having a temporary Human Experience. The key here is to understand and belief that you are not your situation. You are not just limited to the ego, life and struggles that you experience every day. This is a truly empowering concept when you can do this.
Habit 2: Become the Observer of Your Thoughts
-You’ve heard me (and others) say over and over again that you become what you think about the most. That is why I like this Habit so much. You have to become a Master at monitoring your thoughts and feelings. You must do this so you can quickly adapt and deal with negative or disempowering thoughts, but also so you can stay on track with what you truly desire. Staying laser focused is a key to getting with you want…this happens when you Observe and Direct Your Thoughts.
Habit 3: Release Your Imagination from Current Limiting Circumstances
-It is so important that you disconnect your cirucumstances from your identity. You are not your story. You are not limited to the resources and experience that you currently have. You need to accept your situation in life is exactly that…”a temporary situation in life”. You are the one that is capable of overcoming where you are and growing past it. When you believe that 1)you are not your story, and 2)that you are determined to overcome whatever it is you are facing…then, you have already won. Open up your mind and your imagination to the possibilities.
Habit 4: See Your Wish as Already Accomplished
-You must learn to visualize yourself as already accomplishing your goals. This isn’t easy but the subsconscious mind doesn’t really separate the difference in what is real and not real like your conscious mind does. When you can learn to image that your goals and dreams (wishes) are already done…then your mind will go to work finding ways to make it happen. RAS
Habit 5: Believe in Your Own Divine Power
-Dyer would something I really appreciate and try to recognize in my daily life…”It is my belief that you are never given the power to dream without the equivalent power to manifest that dream and make it your physical reality.” He reflected that teachings of many great spiritual leaders that would encourage us to see ourselves at unlimited and know that we are capable of great things.
Habit 6: Remain Independent of the Good Opinion of Other People
-It is so important in today’s world to clarify what you want and picture the version of yourself you wish to attain. But it is equally important to have faith in yourself and your intentions and not get caught up in the opinions of others. Allows these distractions will only keep you from moving forward in life and creating the best version of yourself because you will constantly be doing things for the wrong reasons.
Habit 7: Reconstruct Your I Ams
-In order to attract abundance into your life, you need to think abundantly. The problem is that too many of us are focused on what we lack or don’t have. We need to very carefully identify what we want in our lives and shift into a state where we can visualize that it has already happened. Its simply a process and habit to teach yourself. Shift from “I want” or “I will” to “I AM”. There is massive power in your ability to act as if and visualize (in your mind) the events as already happening in your life.
Habit 8: Be Patient & Banish Doubt
-I know it can be difficult to condition your mind in a new way like Dr Dyer suggests. This is why it is so important for you to be patient and to allow yourself time, patience and understanding when changing your life. It will take work and also take much focus for you to get where you want to be…but all things that are worth it will take time and sacrifice. Be patient with yourself not just in growth but in adopting a long term focus for creating your best life…its a process.
Note- one thing that has helped me is that it can sometimes be difficult to have faith and belief in yourself or the fact that you can accomplish big things. But, if you adopt faith and confidence that you are “committed” and will “never give up” then you will still accomplish your goals and dreams.
Habit 9: Align Yourself with the Feeling of the Wish Fulfilled
-Visualizing yourself accomplishing your goals is one step. Creating present day affirmations is another, but Dyer talks about something in this habit I really like. He says that you also need to “FEEL” what’s its like so that you can clearly align with what you are trying to accomplish. You can do this by attaching yourself to the emotions you might feel when you are where you want to be personally or professionally. He notes that Einstein made the observation: “logic will get you from A to B. Imagination ill take you everywhere”. Your logic has gotten you where you are now. It’s time to develop your imagination and see where that takes you…
Habit 10: Take Stock of How Natural Your Dream Feels to You
-Quote “The time it takes your desire to become reality is directly proportional to the naturalness of being it. The more natural an experience your wish feels for you, the faster you will create it in your life. Conversely, the more unnatural a state of being feels to you, the longer it will take to achieve.”
The key word is “feels”. This directly ties to the concept we speak of called Defining Your Unique Talent.
Habit 11: Phrase Your Intentions as Given Statements
-There is a power in writing out your Intentions and reading them daily. Sometimes we think that spending time thinking about our goals and dreams is enough but writing them down…studying them daily…and repeating them aloud is very powerful as well. Spend time placing Your Statement into your daily rituals and practices.
Habit 12: Choose Your Reality with Love
-I like how Dyer talks about this habit. He talks about how our goals and desires can become driven but our need to win, create status, gain recognition, or basically over power those around us. This is because EGO starts to take over. When you come from a place of Love and Understanding you can adopt much more power and influence in your life. Its counterintuitive, but Love is a very powerful emotion and driver if you adopt it in your life.
Habit 13: Know that What You Already Have is Enough
-Learn to practice gratitude for what you already have. Until you practice gratitude for you what you have, it is highly unlikely you will continue to gain more in your life. I love the quote I’ve given in the past:
“Happiness is wanting what you have…rather than having what you want.”
This is a philosophy that will truly help you to accomplish and have more in your life, if you will adopt it.
Ultimately, you are an Amazing Person. You have Unlimited untapped potential. You have everything inside you to become the best version of yourself and create an Amazing life. The key then becomes the process of “uncovering” the new, best version of yourself.
It’s like when Michelangelo was creating the statue of David and said that he wasn’t carving out the human form. He was simply removing (chipping away) the stone from the sculpture that was not needed. You must view the same process for yourself and your life. Just become more of the greatness you have inside you each day and your life will unfold in an amazing way. Uncover and Unleash Your True potential.
